
Universitas Airlangga , with the supervision of ASEAN Network on Microbial Utilization (ANMICRO) hosted the 5th ASEAN Microbial Biotechnology Conference (AMBC) and workshop in molecular identification of bacteria on 13-14 June 2025 at Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya, Indonesia. Moreover, Universita Airlangga also organized the 11th Meeting of ASEAN Network on Microbial Utilization (AnMicro) alongside the event.
The 5th AMBC Conference disseminated recent findings on a broad range of topics in Microbiology and Biotechnology. Under the theme “Research in Microbiology and Biotechnology for Supporting the Sustainable Development Goals,” this conference aims to underscore the critical role of microbiological and biotechnological innovations in addressing global challenges and advancing sustainable development.
The keynote and workshop sessions were covering a wide spectrum of topics—including microbiology, medical microbiology, environmental microbiology, food microbiology, mycology, bacteriology, biotechnology, cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, and more.
Delegates from AnMicro member organizations attended the 11th AnMicro meeting on June 14, 2025. The gathering served to review AnMicro’s progress and network activities, while also outlining the future direction of its missions.
