June 2014 – BIOTEC welcomed three research scientists under BIOTEC Training Program on Microbial Utilization 2014 from members of AnMicro with aim to strengthen ASEAN research community towards sustainable utilization of biological resources. This year, three successful applicants are:

    1. Mr. Eldrin De Los Reyes Arguelles, National Institute of Molecular Biology & Biotechnology (BIOTECH), University of the Philippines Los Baños, Philippines

    2. Mr. Jaycee Augusto Gumiran Paguirigan, University of Santo Tomas, Philippines

    3. Mrs. Ika Rahmatul Layly, Agency for Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), Indonesia


The program has been offering by BIOTEC during the 1st AnMicro meeting in February 2014 to build up human capital through training program on different research topics: Discovery of microbial-derived bioactive natural products and Screening and optimization of production conditions for biomass-degrading enzymes for industrial application with the supervision of BIOTEC research teams.
